Good afternoon Monday marked 24 years since I received my heart transplant. I am pretty sure if my donor Mum hadn't decided to donate her child's organs that day I wouldn't be here today. I doubt I would've survived much beyond my 3rd birthday let alone to adulthood. Thankfully she somehow thought of other children in an unbearable time. It maybe easy to say as adults we'd donate our organs & tissue but I'm not sure parents would necessarily find that decision about their child if they were ever faced with it easy. It reminded me the more we bring the organ donation crisis up in conversation as well as telling our loved ones out wishes the more awareness is raised. As thankfully out of the 65 million plus people living in the U.K. Only 7000 are waiting for transplant, but when only half of those waiting will receive one it puts into perspective how much we need more donors! The current plan is to keep gaining signatures online with the aim of approaching the backbench business committee to consider the Soft Opt Out system. I am still collecting offline sunstyees as my MP could always present those instead. Please keep sharing this petition, we're only 56 signatures off 3000 online! Your support is amazing. Kindest regards Lucy
