Recently Footballer Adam Johnson was convicted of one count of sexual activity with a 15 year old girl and was sentenced to 6 years. Today a 22 year old male from Eastbourne, East Sussex was convicted (and pleaded guilty too) 8 counts - 5 counts of Sexual activity with a child and 3 counts of sexual activity in front of a child. He got an 18 months prison sentence SUSPENDED for 2 years, so, if he keeps his head down he will not serve a single day in prison. In no world or society should this be happening, there needs to be a change to the law to introduce a mandatory minimum sentence for anyone convicted of sexual activity with a minor. What kind of message does this send out? Its in no way a deterant if people see him getting off so lightly.
