We are facing a huge problem in the UK right now that, considering the circumstances, the UK is handling quite well. One area in which we have failed to recognise, however, is GCSEs. This is not referring to Year 11s who have been receiving as much attention as can be given. While focusing on Year 11s, Year10s have been grossly neglected. Quite a few Year 10s have been entered for their GCSEs early and the government still have not decided on what is to be done with them. 

Early entrants have spent the last year focusing on these exams which, if cancelled mean that al that work was a waste and could have been more productive. The coronavirus cannot be stopped by the government but Year 10s are a huge group that are all stressed and anxious, hoping for a predicted grade, checking for any new news every 2 minutes. 

If GCSEs are to go ahead next year Year 10s will also be greatly affected by this, as an international pandemic can surprisingly cause stress. They've also been left at a disadvantage as their learning has already been disrupted and will continue to be for who knows how long. More attention needs to be given to Year 10s and decisions should be made because it's not fair for a whole year group who are living on the edge to be neglected.
