Please do not amend or weaken the Hunting Act 2004
The Issue
The government's postponement of the Wednesday 15th July vote concerning fox hunting is a cynical manipulation of our democracy, when they are simply scared of losing the vote.
The vast majority of the UK population - 80% in fact - are strongly opposed to the return of fox hunting. 10 years ago it was denounced as a cruel, outdated and inefficient bloodsport and this condemnation should remain so.
Hunting a fox with a pack of hounds certainly is not a humane method of control and should not be legalised in a country which prides itself on its strong stance on animal welfare.
I strongly believe that in postponing this critical vote, David Cameron has shown a seriously lack of respect to the majority of the British public.
Why is fox hunting a priority of David Cameron? There are far more pressing issues both nationally and globally that need addressing (ISIS, Eurozone Crisis, etc.) than a cruel 'sport' that should be consigned to history books.
'Tradition' is no excuse for cruelty.
It is 2015. We live in a civilised society, one in which I believe no bloodsports should be given a place. It is painstakingly obvious that the 'sport' of fox hunting is no longer practically or morally compatible with the age in which we now live.
