There are currently no restrictions as to who can purchase fireworks except for age, and times of the year that they can be purchased. They are sold just about everywhere. Living in a Kent we are surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife, as well as farmland, and we have so many lovely Counties boasting the same. Fireworks are let off anytime of year at domestic homes often with little consideration for neighbours, pets and the environment, terrifying domestic animals, let alone the animals living in our countryside. They are dangerous and ofter used carelessly. They put strain on our emergency services and affect the amount of crime that takes place due to their noise. I would like to see them sold only to licensed organised events. My dogs live in fear from Diwali right through to New Year as they are let off every day. To see the distress they cause animals is extremely upsetting. Organised firework displays are often free and would therefore save people money while at the same time be putting less stress on the emergency services and animals, and would bring communities together. I hope you will support my plea and take the 'Fear out of Fireworks'.
