Project Wedding RESTART: Monday 21st June

Project Wedding RESTART: Monday 21st June

The Issue

This is a call for venues, suppliers and couples across the country to unite and defy the unjust restrictions that are still imposed on us. Enough is enough; weddings must proceed without restriction as of the 21st June. Please sign this petition to show your intention and show the government the number of people they are fighting on this cause.

Over the weekend we’ve witnessed the absolute the hypocrisy of the G7 Summit, with standing drinks, canapes and zero social distancing. Yet we’re forbidden from having standing drinks and canapes. We’ve witnessed the scenes of Wembley Stadium, with 22,500 fans drinking, dancing, hugging and singing. Yet we’re forbidden from dancing and singing with our closest family and friends. We’ve witnessed pubs, parks and events with hundreds and thousands of people coming together from multiple households, all across the country. Yet we’re told weddings are super-spreader events.

We will give the government 48 hours until the 6pm on the 16th June to reconsider their position and work with us, rather than against us. Otherwise we will self-regulate, ensuring;

1. All wedding attendees take a lateral flow test and provide a negative result on entry.

2. Details are held of wedding attendees for track & trace purposes.

3. Carry out our own risk assessments and ensure we are covid secure.

4. Employees and event staff wear face masks and encourage guests to act responsibly with the care of others always at front of mind.

But the party will go on and we will not delay our big day any longer.
