To many animals are being rehomed or abandoned due to landlords not letting families pets come with them.  It's causing too much heart break to both the animals and families alike. Especially when the pet is a child's and or your only company.  Some of these pets act as service pets to many people as well.  It's also not fair on the animal shelters to have to try to fund these animals that are simply there because a landlord doesn't have a heart. We as tenants understand the worry to a landlord that the animals may cause damage but that's what a pet lease is for. The tenant will be responsible for any damage caused by the animal. But landlords, you also need to realise that the majority of these pets won't cause any damage because they are already house trained. Most animal owners are the ones who will respect your property because they have already shown they are the caring type by owning and being responsible for animals. We tenants would like it to be discrimination if animals are not permitted by landlords.
