We need to completely ban the selling of all animals on 2nd hand websites such as Gumtree and Preloved.

They claim to have welfare in mind and rules for sellers - as well as people 'monitoring'. This does not stop people posting ads with a cost showing but 'free to a good home' in the title. Even if money asked for, it is often a small amount. These animals could be sold to anyone.

No home check. No health check. No care.

The amount of dogs used as bait dogs, the amount of cats used to train 'fighting dogs' is getting worse - and being able to post on these sites makes it easy pickings for those looking for these types of animals - as well as unscrupulous breeders selling puppies. A quick search proves this.

Despite many emails and stock replies, by many people, nothing has changed. 

No one can monitor online selling well enough to ensure the welfare of a living thing. It just needs to be stopped altogether.

Preloved even have a closed Facebook group for people to 'chat' about pets. In my opinion, they have no care for the animals, despite posting fluffy videos. It's all to allow people to sell - and therefore make them money.

A 'Preloved' pet? Does such a thing exist?

This needs to be stopped.
