Hello every one! Firstly, this will be a TWO PART UPDATE but first let us just say THANK YOU all for taking the time to sign this petition! We reached milestones in record time, from our easy to digest albums and timelines of what unspeakable horror has taken place at Bramble Hall Farm over the decades! You can still see that here
Secondly, THANK YOU to the few protestors who did get out of the comfort of their homes and let Mr Burns know we are not letting this go today at the Magistrates court.
Thirdly, Western Telegraph have been very forthcoming on reporting on the events as they unfolded since the raid day of 28th/29th January 2019. They have issued Pembrokeshire County Council's legal statement for us all to read. You can read that here.
Our thoughts of this PPC legal statement are as follows..
When they say - " we are continuing to monitor the welfare of animals that remain on site, and legitimate grounds for believing that the welfare of any animals is compromised will result in further action" - what they mean is only properties in burns name are being monitored and checked.
When they say - "The council is also responsible for licensing certain animal establishments, including dog breeding, and for animal welfare in these licensed establishments" - Just as we always thought, council are bothered that they are not being paid for dog breeding licenses. Where Wales is rife with puppy farms of squalor conditions...some we know to be on the breeding reg. If you want to get a better understanding of puppy farming politics & why it is so easy for these breeders to get away with squalor conditions, sick puppies etc. Please go to this group.
When they say - "These welfare roles complement those of the RSPCA, who generally take a lead in ensuring the welfare of companion animals (including dogs and horses) at other sites, with liaison taking place as appropriate" - RSPCA inspector Keith Hogbens, as well as the Chief inspector signed off on this establishment when Hogbens was looked into for internally allowing animal abuse to carry on. Keith Hogbens allowed Mostonbrook Sanctuary to carry on when he numerously visited it for inspections because of reports of concerns logged for YEARS. How many MORE has he done this too?
When they say - "A warrant to enter Bramble Hall Farm was executed in 2017, which resulted in a prosecution and conviction in January 2018 for operating an illegal dog breeding establishment, animal welfare and animal by-product offences. Confirmation was subsequently obtained that dogs previously used for breeding had been rehomed pending a possible future application for a dog breeding licence" - Notice how they put illegal dog breeding first. This was what the charges were about. We don't believe the last part, that 2017 council/animal health team rehomed possible STOLEN dogs pending a possible future DOG BREEDING application from Burns!!! So if your dog was stolen before 2017. You need to write an appeal because they've got a lot to answer for. How they can justifiably say that they would've given Burns a chance to apply for a dog breeding applications. Speaks volumes to what PCC motives are.
When they say - "A small number of animals were not taken into possession during the operation as there was no veterinary evidence to suggest that their welfare had been compromised or that the animals would be subject to significant risk, at that time. " - 9 confirmed dogs and possibly even more given back to Burns and his mother, as well as sheep....AFTER an illegal smokies slaughterhouse had just been discovered!! Video evidence of the conditions with descriptions of dead puppies amongst the dog food!
When they say - "Despite legitimate public animal welfare concerns, Pembrokeshire County Council is unable to prevent any individual from acquiring or keeping animals. Only a court can do that. If someone has been convicted for an offence under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, the court can make an order depriving/disqualifying them from owning, keeping, participating in keeping or controlling or influencing the way animals are kept, transporting or arranging the transportation of animals. There is nothing stopping animals being brought to a site/kept on site until a disqualification is in place" - Just as we thought Burns in 2017 or any other charge has NEVER been convicted under AWA because this is the job of the RSPCA as they are the leading head of animal welfare standards in this country.
This is going to be an uphill battle and we need every one's support more than ever because we have so much more to expose on this place because as it stands 9 confirmed dogs and sheep are still in the care of Mr Burns and on the premises of Rosehill Lodge bungalow, on the Bramble Hall premises. But just enough off of it....that it cannot be included in these legal proceedings....PART 2 update to be continued TOMORROW.
