Once more, many thanks to all the supporters of this petition. Last update attracted over a 1000 more who now will be aware of the attitude of RSPCA NSW to animal cruelty issues.

In my last update I said I would write to the principal political parties and get assurances that animal welfare issues would be improved after the next election. Not one party responded, so Labor Coalition and Greens gets the thumbs down from me! I wrote to both the Shadow Minister for Primary Industries and the Shadow Premier, just no interest shown.

Readers have suggested in the past that I contact the Animal Justice Party (c/o Mark Pearson). I had correspondence from Mark before he became a Senator when he promised he would visit Camp Kitty. Since being elected I have heard nothing from him.

From all my letter writing I have found that no one will criticise the RSPCA NSW. All the charities seem to be protective of any other member of the `Animal Welfare Industry’, and will just ignore any criticism. This includes the RSPCA WA (of which I am a member) and Animals Australia (ditto).

I have also approached Current Affair and Prime 7 News, but again no response. That is a disappointment to me, because it is the input of Prime 7 News that broke the story about the conditions at Camp Kitty in the first place.

Maybe after the election I can interest Barrie Cassidy on ABC Insiders to ask a question or two of the new Premier. I can only try!

Today’s photo shows a dead cat and a hungry one. The dead cat laid there for many weeks and ended up being partially eaten by other cats. This scenario was viewed by the Mayor of Cowra Council, shortly before the Council Elections. I do not believe he has revisited after his successful re election. The RSPCA NSW were happy to state at that time that `there were no welfare issues’ after at least two Inspectors came to visit the site. I can say a lot about their visits, maybe another time.

Maybe readers can help to get responses. Some email addresses below. I hope you are able to make contact as so many organisations seem reluctant to state an email address but prefer you to fill in a long questionnaire. Please feel free to just cut and paste any of my update material.
