A call for all dog care and pet walking businesses to be insured and registered and all dogs in their care to be walked ON a lead.

Our pony Jack sadly passed away on Thursday 4th February 2021.

Jack did NOT die of natural causes, nor was it a peaceful death. All this pony has ever done is look after each and everyone of his jockeys and taught many kids to ride. Jack was living a fun, loveable retired life - Full of treats, cuddles and kisses. He was a member of our family, very much loved by everyone. We had to find him laying dead in his paddock, not a sight that anyone would want to see, A 13 year old had to see him. We had to tie rope to his legs and drag his lifeless body out of the paddock. NO ONE should have to do this. Back to his death - An irresponsible dog Walker was walking dogs OFF lead when one dog ran off making its way to our yard. It ran our horses around frightening them all. The state of the paddock, fencing and shelter proves how scared they were. A result of this is Jack being scared to death - literally. All he has ever done is provide love, affection and cheekiness throughout his life and his last moments before his death were spent PETRIFIED for his life. He didn’t deserve this. Jack was not usually scared of dogs nor would he bother with them as our own dog sat and shared his food with him all the time. So this dog seriously must’ve scared the life out of him. So if the dog Walker had actually kept her clients dogs on leads or took them to fenced off land this wouldn’t have happened and we’d still have our much loved boy.

KEEP YOUR DOGS ON LEADS

This dog was missing from a dog walkers care for nearly an hour

If you are running a pet care service with dogs and walking them either find a secure field or keep them on a lead.  You are being paid by the owners to care for thei dogs
