The coastal town of Kirkcudbright in SW Scotland has been in the media recently regarding a few people not happy about the noise the Herring Gulls are making for short periods of time during the day.  This activity will be short lived as it only happens during a few weeks in the breeding season. 

Herring Gulls are red list status birds. Red is the highest conservation priority, with species needing urgent action.

The next step will likely be nest interference or even worse culling.
