Drumline's performance for the student section is one of the most fun parts of football games for the students, parents, cheerleaders, players, and the drumline people. Currently drumline is being prohibited from playing on the field or playing for student section in any capacity. While football is able to carry on with games, with few to no masks,  the drumline who does have masks is unable to play alongside the cheerleaders who are also masked for the student section who are also masked. Drumline's performance at games is something that brings together all students and gets everyone more involved in the game, and it is one of the most memorable parts of the game. In a year already filled with so many changes, why get rid of the Drumline performance? There is less risk in covid transfer from drumline than from the football players as drumline is masked and not close in proximity to the other students. If there is less risk associated with Drumline playing than football playing, why is it being prohibited? We want to see Drumline performing for student section. If the current rule is that they cannot play on the field, have them on the track, or distanced in the stands, or in the walkway infront of student section. If football can play, then it is only fair that Drumline can too. Please help us safely return a favorite past time of RRISD student.
