Jared Joseph Leto - Jared Leto (born December 26, 1971) is an American Oscar-Winning actor, singer-songwriter, musician, director, producer, activist, philanthropist, photographer and businessman. Leto has been an iconic part of Charity Work over the past 13 years. Being the frontman for the U.S. band Thirty Seconds To Mars, he has traveled the world over many times. He is well known for this work in the following Causes:

Jared Leto has led a minute of silence at the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam for victims of Typhoon Haiyan.The SAG Awards Ceremony Auction offers movie and television fans the chance to bid on autographed collectibles signed by many of this year’s nominated actors and casts, including an original costume worn by Jared Leto and the cowboy hat worn by Matthew McConaughey in “Dallas Buyers Club. Proceeds from the SAG Awards Ceremony Auction benefit the SAG Foundation's award-winning children’s literacy programs: BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools), reading to over 60,000 children monthly in classrooms and hospitals nationwide, and Storyline Online, reaching an average of 2.2 million global views each month.

The auction also supports the SAG Foundation’s Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance programs, which aid performers struggling with medical and economic hardships.

The SAG Foundation also provides free career-building seminars, casting workshops and professional resources to union members.

• He was chosen a 2014 Event Chairman for The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) This annual gala, sponsored by Chopard, Neuro Drinks and Wells Fargo, is the largest fund-raising event in Hollywood on Oscar night and has raised nearly $40 million to support the Foundation’s mission to achieve an AIDS-free generation.
• Summer of Hope launched generating a wide response. Over the course of the campaign, participating artists could reach more than 300 million people on Twitter alone. More than 100 million were reached by Jared Leto and others.
• Jared and other stars raising money for WildAid and awareness of its wildlife conservation programs around the world.WildAid is the only organization that focuses on reducing the demand for endangered species products by specifically targeting consumers with engaging public service announcements and education initiatives.
• His band Thirty Seconds To Mars is building water wells in Africa, building homes in impoverished areas saving aquatic wildlife with the following groups:

• The Leto-directed music video of "A Beautiful Lie" was the first one ever to be shot 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Greenland. Determined to offset the impact that filming would have on the environment, Leto and the band worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council to develop strategies that would minimize fuel consumption on the shoot and purchased North American Blend Green Tags (a renewable energy certificate product) from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. 30 Seconds to Mars also launched a beautiful lie.org, which includes information about current environmental issues, ways to participate in environmental activities and more. In addition, people can make donations through the site to support the Natural Resources Defense Council In June 2008,
• Leto and his bandmates joined Habitat for Humanity to work on a home being repaired and renovated through the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Area's "A Brush With Kindness" program. In advance of the build, the band organized an auction of "build slots" to give fans the opportunity to volunteer alongside them and their family and friends. In less than a week, six extra workers were enlisted and over $10,000 was raised to fund additional Habitat for Humanity projects. Leto also supported Habitat for Humanity Malaysia in Sentul in August 2008 In 2008, he supported the Proposition 2 and attended the Yes! On Prop 2 benefit gala to stop animal cruelty held in Los Angeles, California
• . In July 2010, he supported WWF's Text For Tigers charity campaign to aid in saving wild tigers from extinction.
• After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Leto and his bandmates raised $100,100 for Haitian relief. The charity auction included concert tickets, an exclusive backstage meet and greet, and dinner with the band. 30 Seconds to Mars has also supported the people of Haiti through the Echelon Project "House for Haiti" and the Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief. Leto released a book of photographs taken during his trip to Haiti in 2011, in a bid to raise funds for the earthquake-ravaged country. He has connected with and helped various organizations since arriving in Haiti, including Sean Penn's J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Leto spent a year in the Caribbean country during his childhood, and he returned there in January 2011 to "reconnect" with his former home following the devastating tremor of January 2010.
• 30 Seconds to Mars donated items to a Red Cross auction to assist people affected by the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
• Recently the band played the Ukraine shortly after the dire incident of protestors dying in the Independence Square. Many bands would not play the venues for fear of danger, yet 30 Seconds To Mars ignored the threat and played there. Leto payed homage to the victims by visiting the memorial. In his Oscar acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor for his part as Rayon the Transgender Woman afflicted with AIDS in the 1980's (Dallas Buyers Club) he mentioned the Ukraine and dedicated the award not only to his Mother, but all the Rayon's in the world. In preparation for the role he spent time with those afflicted with AIDS.
• Recently April 2014 he visited the Mercy Centre in Thailand for those with AIDS and cheered up the children there.
• He is supporting the RED campaign against AIDS currently. Recently he visited the AIDS stricken children of Mercy Centre in Thailand. He also visited the memorial of the protesters that were lost in Independence Square in the Ukraine. His band Thirty Seconds To Mars played a show there despite possible danger. Leto was praised by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatsenuk.  Jared Leto solved the recent crisis that had risked bursting into open war between Russia and the beleaguered Eastern European country. It is understood that the deal brokered by Leto will see Russia withdraw its troops and recognize the legitimacy of the new government in return for 30 Seconds to Mars not playing in Moscow. The Requiem for a Dream actor has now been contacted by the UN to help out in other trouble spots in the world and which will see a world tour of 30 Seconds to Mars playing in such places as the Occupied West Bank, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the DMZ between North and South Korea
• He has a heart of gold, is a Vegan and gives great inspiration to all that he meets.
