On 26th December 2021, the post box outside 20 Outwood Lane in Horsforth was damaged by a car hitting it due to icy weather conditions. Since then residents and town councillors of the area have wanted to see it replaced.

Royal Mail is currently refusing, stating that because there are 5 post boxes currently within half a mile of the location, they say the nearest of which is the post box at Throstle Nest 480m away from Outwood Lane.

However, they have not seemed to have factored in that the Throstle Nest post box lies over the other side of a very busy stretch of the A65 in Horsforth, which is not necessarily accessible to all and can be dangerous to cross at busy times.

Please sign if you would like to see the Outwood Lane post box reinstated.
