A recent review of WHS laws has been published. You can get a copy here.
" Recommendation 20:
Review incident notification provisions in the model WHS Act to ensure they meet the intention outlined in the 2008 National Review, that they provide for a notification trigger for psychological injuries and that they capture relevant incidents, injuries and illnesses that are emerging from new work practices, industries and work arrangements. "
*NB They recommend a review. So the job is not finished yet. We need an incident trigger to get people with psychological injuries the same treatment as physical. To make this issue front and center. To stop it being shoved aside as insignificant. Via a domino effect, to force employers to take the issue of psychological safety seriously - and to stamp out pathological behaviour in the workplace.
It is also noted that "warrant immediate consideration—for example, the making of model WHS Regulations dealing with psychological health"
So let's continue to push this petition far and wide.
