One Drop - Australian Nurses Speak Out
14 Feb 2019

Today the Australian parliament  has in it's possession the results of an inquiry into mental health of first responders. In Chapter four, they state OUR EXACT POINT that

"From the employer's perspective, they are dealing with a staff member on the basis of poor performance, and the response is deemed to be 'reasonable management action'. Reasonable management action is a recognised defence to claims of alleged psychological injury which makes it difficult for affected workers in this position to successfully make a workers' compensation claim." (4.24)

That's because 'reasonable management action" is written into law. That has got to CHANGE RIGHT NOW.

Change the laws, then you can change the employers perspective, change the focus of 'performance' from negative to positive, and reap the benefits in your team, reduce costs of absenteeism, increase patient safety - let the dominos fall. It's not rocket science.
