

Christine Marshall Hunter, 27, was assaulted on the Barkly Highway near Barkly Homestead, NT, on Sunday. Her 33-year-old partner called Triple-0, reporting she had stopped breathing and needed medical assistance. He claimed their car hit a kangaroo. He is now charged with Christine's murder. She is the 19th Australian woman killed this year.
Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed.
