'She was truly loved by so many'
Today, a family is mourning Christine Marshall Hunter.
Christine was murdered near the Barkly Homestead in the Avon Downs region of the Northern Territory on April 5.
Her partner called 000, saying she had stopped breathing and their vehicle had hit a kangaroo. Today, NT Police confirmed he is charged with Christine's murder. Christine is the 19th Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed.
The 27-year-old's family lives in the Caboolture area and are desperate to bring their precious human home.
A GoFundMe has been set up, with Christine's sister Jazmyne saying she was a loving and caring person who deserved every good thing in life.
"She had a very hard past, but no matter what she went through, she stayed strong and continued to care for others," Jazmyne writes.
"She was funny, loud, protective, and had a way of making people feel safe and loved when they were around her.
"She came from a big, loving family of eight siblings, and losing her has left a space in our lives that can never be filled.
"This has completely broken me.
"I’m only 19, turning 20 at the end of April, and I never imagined I would be going through something like this or having to say goodbye to my sister so soon."
