VALENTINA WAS 90. SHE DESERVED TO DIE WITH DIGNITY AND IN HER SLEEP

Valentina Spivak loved her music, her Russian culture and her Jewish heritage.
It's not known when Valentina arrived in Australia but with Vladimir Putin's war on Ukraine still raging, getting back to her home country would have been impossible.
Here in Australia, she should have been able to live out her days in peace. 
At 90 years old, Valentina was murdered by a man who was supposed to adore and protect her. 
She was stabbed to death at Bondi Beach, NSW on September 19. She is one of the three women murdered that day. She is also the oldest woman killed this year. 
Her grandson Sergei Mitnik is charged with her murder. 
Valentina is the 51st of 52 Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed. 
Already this man has admitted to killing Valentina, but he is trying to mitigate his culpability by blaming the drug Ozempic and its interactions with other medications.
Thus the groundwork is in place for a mental health defence. 
Valentina deserves better than this.
