Stop vet visits in a car park

The Issue

With most of the restrictions now being lifted I am confused to why face to face appointments have not been resumed by Vets. Throughout lockdown pet owners have had to hand over their pets in a car park not being allowed inside the surgery, this I understood at the time however most of the country are back seeing people face to face for appointments, shops are open, front line workers in health and social care, truck drivers, teachers to name but a few have all been out there doing a great job so why are vets special? Why are our pets being given treatment without us being with them to keep them calm, would you allow a child to be taken off you and given treatment without you being there, I think the answer is no. We have a right as pet owners to be with them if they are unwell or sadly having to be put to sleep, this has happened to so many pet owners over the last 18 months or more including myself and I believe that vets do not want to return to seeing people face to face as without the distractions of the pet owner they can see more pets daily and increase their already high profits, I also ask why why are we still having to pay around £50 for a consultation fee which takes place in a busy car park that everyone can hear what is being said to you, what makes vets special? Please sign this petition so pet owners can be with their pet in the surgery and know exactly what treatment they are receiving and speak in private rather than in a car park.
