Hi friends! How’s it going?

It’s been a while since I was able to update you guys on Mona’s situation, but I’ve got some great news for all *checks notes* 390,496 of you!

If you haven’t seen already in the news or on social media, the officer who assaulted Mona, Lacey Browning, has been CHARGED and will appear in court on September 14!!

Thank you so much to everyone for your support, it shouldn’t have taken this long but we’re finally a step closer to getting justice for Mona!!

But remember while you’re doing your happy dance: a charge is NOT a conviction. We need to make sure we’re still showing up for Mona and giving her the support she deserves, as well as keeping the pressure on important decision makers to ensure that people like Lacey Browning get the punishment they deserve for the way they’ve treated vulnerable people who needed their help. I’m not going to “declare victory” on this petition until after Lacey Browning has been officially convicted.

Much love to all of you, and thank you so much again for all your help! What we did together was so amazing and powerful, don’t stop pushing for change with how Canada treats mental health and policing! If you see an issue, speak up on it!!
