For years the Woolly Mammoth exhibit at the Royal BC Museum featured the sound of rolling thunder to bring to life its diorama of an Ice-Age tundra, however due to the complaints of some over-protective parents, a generation of children have now been deprived of the right to run screaming from the thunderous presence of this Pliocene pachyderm.

Our three-year-old was scared of "Woolly" as he is affectionately known the first few times we visited, however the mammoth is now his favorite part of the museum and yet I can't help but feel that he is missing out on the full experience in the absence of the ominous thunder.

We ask that museum restore this exhibit to its former glory and bring back the thunder.
