After gay marriage was legalized in all 50 states on June 26th, 2015; Kim Davis announced that she would not be able to issue marriage licenses to gay men and women due to her own religious views. To avoid discrimination, she is refusing to issue any marriage licenses to anyone for the time being. As a County Clerk, it is not her job to impose her religious views on others, but to uphold the law regardless of whether or not she agrees with it. If her religious views conflict with her government job to such a great extent, it would be the responsible decision for Kim Davis to resign from office. This petition is designed to show Davis how seriously the local community takes this issue, and by signing below you too agree that Kim Davis should consider resigning.
