We understand that we are in unprecedented times and that RRISD teachers and administers are working extremely hard to support students and families during this time. We thank you for that. However, RRISD's virtual learning plan is not meeting the needs of our students especially when you compare our process to neighboring districts (see the picture for the comparison). Because the district has made the decision to not allow video conferencing with teachers, it has been very difficult for teachers to provide instruction. What's more, the bulk of the instructional responsibilities has fallen on parents. We still have four weeks left and I believe we should still work to improve our virtual learning process for the remainder of the school year. I not only worry about my children but about the children whose parents can't be by their side walking them through this material. In addition, I know that our children who use Special Education services are not getting the educational support they need right now either. 

RRISD, we need you to improve this process!
