Residents against re-zoning LDR to MDR petition to the City of Roseville, MN

Residents against re-zoning LDR to MDR petition to the City of Roseville, MN
The Issue
A developer is requesting a zoning change from Low Density Residential-1 (LDR-1) to Medium Density Residential (MDR) to build out 19 small townhomes (reduced from 21 originally).
Only neighbors within 500 feet of the proposed development received notification for a neighborhood meeting that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This petition is to get the word out beyond the immediate neighbors awareness and well ahead of decisions that will impact this area forever.
The 5-acre property at 2395 County Road B has a pond and wetlands and many large, old growth trees. It is home to deer, turkeys, owls, hawks, foxes, coyotes, and many birds and wildlife. There is growing consensus to try to keep this property as a natural wildlife park to prevent it from being destroyed for dense town home development. The proposal for re-zoning goes against the 2030 and 2040 Comprehensive Plan already approved for this great city!
Join us in voicing your opinion by adding you name to the petition to the Planning Commission to stop the re-zoning request and request the city acquire this property for a Wilderness Park.
