The Frederick County Council Members and County Executive are the ones that can make the difference. They understand the problem with the intersection of Route 144, Linganore Road and Bartonsville Road. They understand that it is just and fair to let Rosehaven Manor continue past its currently "denuded moonscape" look.
At this time, the Council and their attorneys are considering if a Bill can be created to address these problems and if it can be placed on the Council agenda within the next month and a half. It is a slow process, but it is an important time for the Council to do their homework and place the Bill on a future agenda.
The Bill would need to be approved by four of the seven Council Members; however, the County Executive can elect to veto a Bill if there are only four votes. If there are five Council Member votes (called a "Super Majority") then the Executive can not veto it. We think at this time that the County Executive understands the problem, so hopefully she would not use her veto if there are four votes for the Bill. Perhaps all seven will vote to solve such a common sense problem that is right for Frederick County.
These seven Members and the Executive care what the residents of Frederick County want, so your emails have been much appreciated. If you feel so moved, you could send an email requesting that the Council Members craft a Bill that can solve the problems at this intersection and at Rosehaven Manor. Once the Bill gets on the agenda, then we can petition for them to pass it.
