
In 2007 the Firth of Lorn SAC was closed to scallop dredging following a complaint to Europe. Wildlife recovery has been dramatic as shown in the video.
The Continuity Bill is supposed to replace citizen's rights to free access to justice for nature from Europe after Brexit. Amendments to strengthen the Bill have been passed, however one crucial loophole remains.
The environmental watchdog will not address complaints from citizens such as the one which resulted in protection of the Firth of Lorne SAC or a complaint about the continuing illegal disturbance of cetaceans by ADDs.
