For the past few months Newark Humane Society has been under investigation with numerous failed inspection reports and little to no changes being made. Yesterday, as channel 11 reported on the neglect and abuse that goes on at the shelter, we all learned that Roseann Trezza, the director of Associated Humane Society  in Newark NJ, was charged with animal cruelty, 8 criminal counts  and 8 civil counts. This has been a long time coming. This person has been in charge of this shelter for decades and the neglect was swept under the rug the whole time. It's time for change. It's time for someone to come into the shelter who has compassion for animals and has their best interest at heart. The only way that can happen is if Roseann Trezza resigns.
