Four Black students and two Latinos were denied admission to Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine's (RFUMS) Chicago Medical School due to systemic and explicit racism in the institution's admission process.

The six racial minority students successfully completed the Pre-Matriculation Program (PMP) at RFUMS with A/B letter grades, which historically, for over 30 years have earned PMP students admission into Chicago Medical School. CHAMPS and the student leadership at Chicago Medical School are demanding their immediate admission for the class of 2024.

The former PMP director resigned because of these reprehensible acts of racism on several levels. This expert in matriculating minorities into medical school, along with CHAMPS’ leadership endorsed all six candidates.

To RFUMS' President, Dean of the Chicago Medical School and Board of Trustees,

You state #BlackLivesMatter, but you don't take action until we march around your school in protest.

The Dean of the Chicago Medical School, under pressure, only met with CHAMPS’ leadership about these students, after a press conference and protest marches. However, it was only for a 15-minute meeting filled with technical problems.

You post on your website that diversity, civility and integrity are your core values, yet >6% black CMS population is too large a number.

According to the AAMC MSAR report, RFUMS CHICAGO MEDICAL SCHOOL ranked last for underrepresented in medicine for the Chicago area schools with 6.3% (12) African Americans, and 3% (6) Latinx students out of 189 for the entering class in 2018.

You vow to focus on eliminating systemic racism, but you refuse to #ADMITTHESIX!

WE DEMAND ALL SIX RACIAL MINORITY STUDENTS BE ADMITTED IMMEDIATELY INTO THE CHICAGO MEDICAL SCHOOL.
