Over hundreds of people are affected daily with the safety concerns of crossing Roosevelt Road due to it being a very high traffic highway. There have been multiple residents injured and even killed crossing Roosevelt Road.

If IDOT would install a stop light, crosswalk, or sky bridge on Roosevelt Road between Target, Marian Park Apartments and St. Francis High School this would provide a safer route for all residents and students to cross Roosevelt Road without injuries.

We are bringing this to your attention again due to the recent event on January 2, 2023, of a resident of Canticle Place that was involved in a hit and run, and the resident ended up passing away. We cannot continue to have residents and/or students injured or killed crossing the road to go to and from school, or a resident crossing the road to go get groceries and other living essentials.
