Angora rabbits suffer greatly so people can wear their wool. Most angora comes from Chinese farms, where rabbits are farmed intensively. They are housed individually in small, barren cages. Rabbits are extremely social, active animals, and suffer greatly from being kept alone and confined with nothing to do. Angora is collected from the rabbits by either plucking, clipping or shearing; all methods are extrememly stressful for the rabbits, and they are often mishandled, resulting in injury. Workers will strap rabbits down by their paws to a bench that roatates them and stretches them out, hurting their backs and legs, this method is used when shearing or plucking. If clipping is the method used, the rabbits are usually held by their ears and placed into a "trance" (tonic immobility) which has been proven to be very stressful for rabbits. Holding a rabbit by the ears is absolutely horrific, their ears are very sensitive and being held this way causes great pain and discomfort, it also means they are at a high risk of breaking their backs when they struggle.
Nearly all the male rabbits are killed because they do not produce as much wool as the females and all rabbits eventually go for slaughter after enduring years of torment and cruelty.

This is unacceptable. We need to stop exploiting animals.
