We, the undersigned, would like the Roane County, TN Commissioners and the County Executive to know that we are in support of the Big Cat Sanctuary in Roane County known as Tiger Haven. We feel that Tiger Haven is an asset to Roane County and its citizens. Multiple precautions have been taken by Tiger Haven to ensure the safety of the animals, neighbors and the environment. For twenty-four years, since its founding in 1991 by Mary Lynn Haven, it has been overseen by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). It has been inspected by them on an average of five times per year (approximately 120 times) and has passed all inspections. With the dedication of Ms. Haven and those who have worked with her, Tiger Haven has become, in many instances, the last chance for some of these beautiful creatures.
