ANGRY POLICE OFFICER REPEATEDLY PUMMELS POLICE K9 UNDER THE GUISE OF "TRAINING"
The Issue
https://abc7news.com/vacaville-police-officer-punches-k9-caught-on-camera-pd/9183299/
We, the petitioners, are calling for the immediate and lifetime removal from the K9 Division of the Officer seen pummeling the Police K9. He clearly has anger issues and is not a suitable K9 Officer.
We are also calling for an immediate investigation into the training programs related to Police K9 training in Solano County.
This is not training. This is a clear case of animal abuse and criminal charges must be filed. The Officer clearly was angered because the K9 did not release. We understand the need for a K9 to immediately release. However, punching it in the head 10 times and laying on it is NOT the way to "train" the dog. It is animal abuse and if a civilian did this to the Police K9, there would be criminal charges filed.
We are respectfully asking for justice for this Police K9 who has served the Police Department faithfully, putting his life at risk every day.
The dog MUST be taken in protective custody away from the handler seen in this video.
The world is looking at this despicable behavior and the ridiculous comments made by the Captain saying that it was a form of training.
JUSTICE must be served swift. This dog is an asset of the City and as such it must be properly cared for.
The dog may be okay physically but he/she is likely psychologically damaged and may never be fit for duty again.
Vacaville PD you should be ashamed or your department.
From the Vacaville PD website. How ironic the beating of the Police K9 doesn't seem to fall within their core values:
CORE VALUES
Integrity in Our Actions
We show respect for ourselves, our organization, and our community by always acting in a manner above reproach both in public and with each other. (Petitioner's Notes: Where is the respect for the Police K9?)
Our actions match our words and we hold each other and ourselves accountable to our core values. (Petitioner Notes: Then HOLD the responsible officer ACCOUNTABLE for beating a fellow Police Officer!)
