Call To Cancel TTMA Fan Fair In San Antonio, Texas

Call To Cancel TTMA Fan Fair In San Antonio, Texas
The Issue
While many events around the country where large gatherings will occur have been cancelled, the Texas Talent Musicians Association has refused to cancel the annual Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in Historic Market Square, San Antonio, Texas.
Headlining artists, record labels, and management have rapidly cancelled their scheduled performances at this weekends annual TMA Fan Fair event, due to the risks associated with COVID-19/Coronavirus. Despite the many cancellations by artists, the people in charge of the event have refused to cancel the event altogether.
Over 100,000 people are expected to attend from all over the country including over 150 artists throughout the 4 day event which begins Thursday, March 12, 2020.
I am asking that local and state government officials get involved and shut down this event to avoid a surge in pathogen transmission. Getting around Market Square during the event increases the likelihood of people getting sick and/or infected, then returning back to their home states and infecting others.
Politicians, radio and tv outlets, and sponsors have been tagged.
PLEASE help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by closing down this event to protect our community on a national scale by signing this petition.
