Lake James - Our Water, Our Future

Lake James - Our Water, Our Future

The Issue

Lake James supplies public drinking water for thousands immediately downstream and a recreational area for over 450,000 visitors annually. Lake James is at the core of public health and the local economy. Due to the potential problems of The Peninsula at Lake James the Coalition requests that permitting for residential construction on the 143 lots by the McDowell Planning Board be stopped until environmental studies can be completed to ensure no significant negative health or environmental impacts will occur from this development on Lake James.
