We the people are tired of cruise lines being fined for illegal dumping into the oceans and repeatedly continuing to do so. Repeat offenders clearly do not mind paying the fines, so we ask that the states with ports for these ships begin to seize cruise ships caught dumping waste into the oceans. These ships can either be sold and money made from the seized ship sales be directed to environmental groups and programs dedicated to cleaning the oceans, or cleaned and sank to create new artificial reefs off of the coasts. Fines are not effective for these billion dollar companies, however after losing a few billion dollar cruise ships companies will likely think twice about dumping garbage into the oceans.
