As we all love to live in this beautiful place and we see more and more people retiring, moving or just building vacation homes in Florida for that reason.

It turn, a death rate of the marine species the Manatee has increased from 69 in 2014 to 136 in 2019.

The numbers are accurate based on the 900 people that move to this state everyday.

One big factor is the safety precautions taken when on the waterway. Speeds are set in certain areas for protection of the shore line, manatees inhabiting areas, or plant life. Well, that all leads to the drivers just like the same ones that drive the vehicles on the roadway everyday. We all know how that goes. Accidents all over. IN THIS CASE ITS THE MANATEE THAT DIES and MANY OTHERS SPECIES THAT AREN'T EVEN CONSIDERED!!!

I want to propose to the State of Florida that a law needs to be put into place to protect not only the MANATEE, but the shoreline and other marine life from the everlasting effects on the water by boat propellers. Its a privilege to own a boat and enjoy the life on the water.

Please make it mandatory on a purchase of a boat rather used or new will have to install a propeller guard on them. This device mounts to the frame of outboard and wraps around the propeller itself. This will help most if not all accidental hits to the manatee species.
