I want to end shark feedings in federal waters. Right now the majority of dive boats throughout the state offer shark dive encounters which involve feeding sharks with customers. By doing so it causes sharks to undergo behavioral changes and accustoms them to being fed and not hunt. Furthermore the association of humans with feeding/food could have dangerous consequences to those that are unaware of the feedings that occur offshore which includes tourist, divers, spear fisherman, recreational fisherman, and any beach goer. And most importantly it affects commercial fisherman and charter boat captains/owners in a devastating fashion which result in highly diminished numbers of fish successfully caught/harvested. In conclusion feeding of any wild predator in the state of Florida is strictly forbidden and against the law, which makes me wonder why this is even a discussion concerning feeding of  sharks anywhere in this state.
