Once again, the state of Texas is trying to subvert the letter and spirit of the Clean Air Act by submitting a smog clean-up plan for Dallas-Ft. Worth that doesn't require any cuts in pollution from major sources like the Midlothian cement kilns, the East Texas coal plants, or the oil and gas industry. We must reduce emissions from these sources if we're ever going to get safe and legal air, and be in compliance with the Clean Air Act.

Rejection of the state plan means that the EPA itself can draft and implement its own anti-smog plan for Dallas-Ft.Worth that will actually require new pollution controls on industry and give us cleaner air.
