There is a farm in West Valley City (1359 W Crystal Ave, West Valley City, UT 84119) where thousands of chickens are being left to die. They are without proper shelter food or water sources. They are Malnourished and abused by the owners who are selling the sick and dying birds for profit. We have pictures and videos of how these birds are being kept. Animal Control has been contacted and they can’t do anything since chicken abuse isn’t under any law! They grab these birds and shove them into boxes without a care in the world about their health and well being. They’ve broken wings and feet. They cut their beaks to prevent fighting which causes eating and drinking difficulties. The only food they were receiving was their own eggs for a very long time, The owners have gotten feed buckets but they are always empty! A lot of birds have died at this farm and will continue to die if this isn’t fixed. Most of them don’t know how to eat like a normal chicken and are afraid of human contact. Their feathers are gone due to malnourishment and other issues. They have no shelter so they are almost all sunburnt to the point they have blisters. Many of them have open wounds such as toe nails ripped off, cones split and even infections such as “bumble foot”. Please make this abuse stop and change the laws to protect chickens like they do other farm animals. Just because they are being raised for food (or egg production) doesn’t mean they should live in these conditions.
