The Ontario Highway Traffic Act states:

147.  (1)  Any vehicle travelling upon a roadway at less than the normal speed of traffic at that time and place shall, where practicable, be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic or as close as practicable to the right hand curb or edge of the roadway. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 147 (1).

A great many drivers do not adhere to this section that is not enforced by police.  As a result our roads are LESS SAFE than they could be  Experienced drivers know that slow drivers in the fast lane are one of our most significant road hazards. KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS laws are enforced in Quebec, most of Europe and a number of U.S. states. SIGN this petition and let us make it so in ONTARIO.

Strict observance of this ordinance can create greater order, predictability and also capacity on our crowded multi-lane roads.
