When you think about luxury cars like Rolls Royce, you imagine the plush interiors, advanced comfort and convenience technology, and truly a statement of good craftsmanship. But did you know that it takes 8 bulls to make one interior of a Rolls Royce automobile? And that’s just one of many auto manufacturers that uses cowhide as well as other hides to upholster their vehicle interiors. 

 Through social media and the internet the grueling reality of the abuses suffered, inhuman conditions, and the sickening ways that they slaughter these animals in factory farming have been brought to the surface. A lot of factory farmers will even skin the animals alive and leave them shuttering, suffering a slow painful death.

 We now live in an era where technology in man made alternatives for leather and suede have really advanced and have become even more plush and more durable than real leather. Man made leathers and suedes have become increasingly popular and a couple great examples are Alcantara which is used in a lot of supercars, and the synthetic leather used in Tesla products.

 As a car enthusiast I have always admired Rolls Royce automobiles for their attractive designs, innovation, attention to detail, and their pride of craftsmanship. But the number of cows that they use per car is sickening. I am petitioning Rolls Royce to drop the abuses and invest and lead the pack in using man made alternative leathers and suedes in their products.
