Many oil companies increased the petrol prices by about Rs 6.28/- today, one of the steepest price hike ever. This has resulted in a straight hike of 7.50/- or 8.50/- in different states.

The people all over are fuming, the opposition is restless, and the status updates and tweets are full of petrol talks. But is that it? There will be irreversible cascading effects and the prices of food and other commodities are going to go out of control.

Lets demand from the Government an immediate roll back of prices.

Letter to
Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Sh. Jaipal Reddy

Roll back the petrol price hike

Many oil companies increased the petrol prices by about rs 6.28/- today, one of the largest hikes since the price regulation authority was given to them.

Needless to say the common man cannot afford such a steep price hike. Is it gold or petrol? One day you go to sleep and the next day when you wake up all the newspapers and tv channels are filled with petrol hike news. Is the govt. playing games to bring in a more people friendly budget next time before the elections? Or is it a compulsion. Why the government was unable to check the decline of the Rupee as compared to other currencies of the world?

To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This steep rise is too much for the people to bear, and the Govt. has to think of other ways to combat this issue. Else the repercussions will be too much for the Govt. to bear.

We sincerely request the honorable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas to give a second thought and see the whole issue from the eyes of the common man. We request him to roll back this unreasonable price hike.

Sincerely,
