There is a call for the Mayor of Port of Spain to resign over a statement that he made. We believe that the Mayor and a public figure simply offered words of concern that the general public has commented about in the past. These were words out of caution and to cause individuals to take a second look at the way you dress and conduct yourself in the public. He never stated that the unfortunate incident involving Japanese national Asami Nagakiya was brought on by her own conduct. That was never stated nor implied. The Mayor was simple doing what any high officer holder should do and that is to offer positive statements to the population of Trinidad & Tobago
