The new helmet rule the NFL has decided to empliment this season has seen only two weeks of action in the 2018 preseason and the rule has already started all kinds of controversy. What’s a clean tackle? What’s an illegal tackle? How are the players supposed to tackle properly? The referees in the NFL are throwing flags on defenders for simply tackling the opposing players on offense at this point. Players on defense are already restricted enough by the NFL and now they want them to change the way they’ve been playing the game since pee wee football. The rule has already shown to be inconsistent and complete judgement calls on whether the official thinks the tackle was legal or not based on their opinion. This new rule is destroying the game we all now and love, and I hope everyone signs this petition in a way of showing our displeasure with the NFL and with commissioner Goodell for creating a rule that takes away the very essence of football. Let's stop with creating a flag football league and get back to FOOTBALL!
