Rogell Park Preservation Petition

Rogell Park Preservation Petition
The Issue
Rogell Park is one of the last remaining large green spaces in our community, yet the City of Detroit is considering the sale of approximately 20 acres of the park to private developers for non-recreational use. This threatens the integrity of the entire park and sets a dangerous precedent for selling off public land meant for community recreation, nature preservation, and family use. We are calling on the City to stop all non-recreational development, protect the parcel(s) of Rogell Park, and ensure the land is used only for recreational, environmental, or community-green-space purposes.
We, the undersigned residents, neighbors, and supporters of our Northwest Detroit community, submit this petition to voice our strong opposition to any non-recreational development on any parcel of land connected to Rogell Park.
