Rocky Brook Bridge Closure
The Issue
Government closed Rocky Brook Bridge and avoids meeting with Central Newfoundland Residents:
The bridge closure impacts the residents of Central Newfoundland taking away access to the back country for recreation such as snowmobiling, ATV usage, hunting and fire wood collection, etc. Access is presently non-existent to the home and cottage owners who invested in the area based on Government’s commitment of 1.7KM direct access from the TCH.
The Rocky Brook bridge Committee has presented several options to government to replace the bridge at NO COST to the taxpayers while supporting the local economy.
TO ALL CABIN OWNERS IN THE PROVINCE: GOVERNMENT WANTS A SMALL GROUP OF RESIDENTS TO ASSUME THE LIABILITY AND EXPENSE OF REPLACING A RESOURCE ROAD BRIDGE. IF THEY SUCCEED, WILL YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR YOUR RESOURCE ROAD ACCESS IN THE FUTURE? SPEAK UP AND STOP GOVERNMENT FROM PASSING ON ITS RESPONSIBILITIES.
We the undersigned are demanding that the government of Newfoundland & Labrador repair/ replace the bridge that the department of Fisheries, Forestry & Agriculture closed November 29,2023 as a result of their assessment.
