To implement a 'Mods' Folder, which will prevent Modifications reaching into GTA Online, and how to circumvent and resolve the issue.

The issue

Dear Rockstar North and Rockstar Games,

(Sorry for my atrocious English writing... It is been brought to my attention that you have re-enabled modififcations but perhaps still take into account my suggestion of an Mods folder to keep your integrity of GTA Online to stay clean from rampant modding on your Online servers...)
I have created this petition after noticing your valid attempts to protecting the integrity of Grand Theft Auto Online's Multiplayer.
As an avid (former PS3 video game console owner and desire to own an energy efficient PC) gamer, I suggest to you as the decision makers, (segment about re-implementing Singleplayer Mods (Has been back support by Rockstar) but significantly, to resolve your struggle to prevent Online Rampant Modification.

What I suggest is to implement a Mods folder within the root contents folder of Grand Theft Auto V.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This suggestion enables us to have an satisfactory outcome by having:

A (Clean, untouched) 'Grand Theft Auto Online'
(From the issue arising from the use of Single Player Modifications Online)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

                         How will my suggestion succeed?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

 Along with your current modification that prevents any mods to run in the root folder (but without banning people for the use of Mods without probable cause) and my Mods folder suggestion:

This will effectively render Single Player to read from the 'Mods' folder, and enable Modifications for ONLY Single Player.
==========================================================
(any modified 'file's (INCLUDING DLL's) within it will be read for solely Single Player, where upon detection of the file, it will ignore the vanilla version of the file/s located in the root folders of the game assets)

==========================================================

                                                          while

In Grand Theft Auto Online's case, the outcome is reversed (Instead of reading the Mods folder, it will disregard it and read solely from the root folder's game assets, Which GTA Online heavily utilises and therefore disables any modifications on GTA Online.
==========================================================
by rendering the main files which GTA Online utlises stay INTACT as an unmodified Multiplayer Client, This will impact both as Rockstar Support workers will have a significantly reduced workload against the conflict between Online Modification and Hackers, allowing you to focus on banning the significant abusers.
==========================================================

In conjunction to the above scenario,

 by ignoring the Mods folder, this allows you to know who has modified it for 'illegitimate' online purposes:

if someone attempts to execute MP with a modified root contents warn them to revert to vanilla by remove ALL modifications OR install them in Mods folder and re download the clean game assets.

(Expand on Ignoring Mods scenario)
************************************************************************************

IF THEY HAVE MODS INSTALLED, It will NEVER BOOT UP and say:

in order to launch SP AND MP you MUST REMOVE ALL MODS and place them in Mods Folder! (EVEN DLLs of modifications!

Forcing them to remove it from the root folder and thus is ONLY avaliable in SinglePlayer!))

************************************************************************************

BANNING PEOPLE for their hard earned money to be paid in full Pre-Order costs is not an good business practice.... But for the legitimate purpose of the intention of hacking through a trainer is legitimate AFTER this suggestion has been implemented!

My suggestion is now EXTREMELY Significant THAN before!

======================
         Hacking scenario
======================
In the scenario that the said hacker is somehow inflicting a negative experience throughout GTA Online, the consumers of GTA Online shall report them for infrigement of incorrect online usage and...

...shall be given a Bannable Offense in this case the  revoke of the individual's key!

Heed my suggestion please Rockstar!

It is clear you are attempting to prevent further modification damages done from the rampant modding of Online.
The problem that's causing it is the game (Both Single Player and Online portion) share the same game assets as Singleplayer (which ofcourse means the mods are also enabled).

AN VERY SIGNIFICANT ISSUE IS:

The banning of players using Mods in ONLY SINGLEPLAYER.
This is an very very VERY negative decision! Your banning people for their hard earned cash. This will sadly cause an massive backlash.  But in reality, in your shoes. Your attempting to prevent modifications reaching to GTA Online.

Hence the significance of the modification folder suggestion being extremely VITAL For the success of not only, GTA Online to flourish but also GTA V itself,

The suggestion I have supplied, despite their may be technical diffculties to even successfully implement it. - >
  removes the issue of SinglePlayer Modifications conflicting with Online Game Assets
.

=========================================================

This is where the innovative idea will succeed. The decision you have taken to lock down the entire game to prevent ALL modifications is smart but, unnecessary.

many people wont take this news lightly... EVEN The banning of singleplayer modifications sadly, which further raises the importance of this suggestion and petition..  (Has been resolved but the matter of GTA Online having an effective client mods prevention hasn't)

=========================================================

---- On an side note: With the positive's of Modification of Video Games (ofcourse Its SinglePlayer...) ------

It is EVIDENT with the obvious examples of (Rockstar's) GTA IV and (Betheda's) Skyrim that the game flourishes beyond its initial release unlike consoles to which they are left commonly deserted (years after its release), due to the lack of modding and the ability to make the game fresh, due to modding... after all... it makes the game more fun and gives you more profit, as an incentive to PC gamers, as it renders the game more entertaining even AFTER they completed everything. ;)

Bethesda's Skyrim, has been still growing all those years and is still strong, and thats due to the unlimited creativity and minds of the exceptional modders who are deeply passionate to video games and modding.

"Modders continue to push the limits of Skyrim beyond what even its developers would have thought possible—and they're just getting started. Heck, I'm really into modding the game and I can't keep up!

Given the fact that people are still making revolutionary mods for Morrowind and Oblivion, it stands to reason that we'll be getting Skyrim mods for a long, long time to come. As Bethesda continues to crank out new game content, it seems like a safe bet that one of the best games of 2011 will continue to get better and better into 2012 and beyond."

*...But banning them for Singleplayer use of Mods is too far, they should have activated the ban effect AFTER they join GTA Online, BUT PRIOR to Logging on GTA Online a message WILL STATE,

"The game has detected you have modified game assets. IF YOU JOIN WITH the modified file assets, you will be banned.

Proceed?"

Then that will force them to remove it prior to joining Online>>"

----------------- WHY? ------------

This'll remove the deep effort of (Rockstar using a large amount of resources towards) preventing modifications before they go Online, and revoking people's GTA V Online access due to Modifications from SP while being connected to Social Club...

To keep Mods from being active.. on Online,When booting up Online via Character Selection AND EXE, will present a warning prior to logging in to access GTA Online (NOT ROCKSTAR SOCIAL CLUB, ONLY ON GTA ONLINE PRIOR TO ESTABLISHED CONNECTION.),

notifying you of being at risk of being revoked access to Online indefinitely (Thus removing ALL MODS on Online! (sadly also FOV.... But atleast SP will allow it.)

This potentially means the outcome of GTA Online can stay CLEAN of Modders and Hackers.o flourish, in the same aspect as GTA IV did from today!

Rockstar does no longer require to ban players due to 'modding' on Online, being non existant

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

---------------------------- Conclusion ---------------------------------------

Please heed my warning... Please...

In order to succeed for not only for yourselves and us as consumers.

We must work together as an consumers and developers to resolve this incident please.

To satisfy both, you as an successful video game developer Rockstar Games and us as the consumers. Thank you very much for reading this petition and I bid you farewell in your decision.
