Boycott Rockstar Games for Exploiting Workers and Small Retailers

The Issue

One of the most common concerns that I see as of late in relation to Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is simple: “if we boycott, wouldn’t that be putting the hundreds of hours of labor done for this game to waste?”. To that I simply say: no. You can read more on why here.

The demands are simple:

  1. Make sure that all of your workers are sufficiently paid. This includes contractors and any staff who may have worked overtime throughout the entirety of this production.
  2. Improve working conditions. We can assure you that your fans will be more than okay with delays if it meant that your workers not only got paid a living wage, but also had guaranteed, reasonable hours from beginning to end. Nobody deserves to work 100 hours in a week, even if they are passionate about their job.
  3. Ensure that all retailers, no matter how big or small, have sufficient access to distribute your product in a timely fashion.

We aren’t asking for the moon and stars. We demand reasonable results before buying your products.

To all gamers and workers signing this petition, please do know that this is just a first step to organizing. Gathering dedicated fans who love Rockstar and love the creators of these amazing games is no small feat. We will post updates on the next steps for organizing if this picks up. ~Reikan
